BOSS' BIG STAR TREK: NEW BOSS EMOTES PART 8
This little series is about The EMOTES. As many of my B6*R7 Fliers know I like to make Emotes for my own enjoyment and to use as icons to represent my Starship Collections. In the past several years I have made hundreds for STAR WARS and less than that for STAR TREK. I am in the mood again to make more of my little Starship Cartoons, and I am going to get Boss' BIG Star Trek up to date with my actual vast collection.
"Misdirection is the key to survival..."
"RESIESTENCE IS FUTILE."
More Boss TREK EMOTES coming soon...

BOSS' BIG STAR TREK: NEW ROMULAN DREADNOUGHT - DRH'ZAXX CLASS WARBIRD PART 1
I am building some cool new ships for my ATTACK WING: Boss' BIG Approved Models and my STAR TREK MISSIONS Skirmish Game Collections. First up is my new huge wonderful Zurg based DRH'ZAXX CLASS WARBIRD model for my BIG Attack Wing Romulans. STAR TREK ONLINE has many great looking ROMULAN SHIPS, and it is obvious to me that Zergies badass fighter has come from about three of them. I based some of my new ships abilities on the crazy-fun Temporal Ship. I am very happy about this new model and thus will also use this wonderful toy to build a Romulan Dropship for my STAR TREK MISSIONS Skirmish Game.
I 💚⚡🖤✨ this evil little badass ROMULAN ship!
BOSS TREK
EMOTES DONE

It is such a joy in my nerd universe to have Demon-mouse I.P. Hoodwinkery continue to give me new goodies to buy for all of my STAR TREK games! I am very pleased that half of the ships in the new Buzz film have been stolen from STAR TREK. Thanks Demon-mouse!

COLLECTION DIARY: SEPTEMBER 2019
I am very happy to be back into BIG Trekking! I am going to have a whole lot of fun getting my nice STAR TREK Collection all caught up with the new streams of products!
It is fun to be able to have the more iconic ships in Boss' BIG Scale... they look so dam-good on the table!
Not only am I back into buying the new models and some of the old ones I ignored back in the day, but I have decided to go extra crazy and start collection 30MM STAR TREK MINIATURES! I am going to use them for fun boarding parties and away missions and so forth on a cute little side-board, while the starship battle rages on the main game table. Cause I can do that too.
Happy BIG TREK Boss out!

BOSS' BIG STAW: SHAPEWAYS SMALL TREK SHIPS!
There are a number of cool small ships in the TREK Universe that I have always liked and wanted to have in my BBA STAW Games! There are also a number of designs that got officially made, but never actually made it to the shows or films. I recently remembered that I love classic STAR TREK, with the NEW Eaglemoss Models released in the past year, and the goodies yet to come out in 2019! This infusion of new excitement has effected Wizzies too as they are releasing a lot of their crazy STAW: Faction Fleet Packs!
My way to celebrate The TREK Coolness recently has been to look at older ship designs again, to triple check their relative scales. I have found that there are a number of Eaglemoss ships that I overlooked that are actually in scale our BIG Approved Fleets. I will talk more about this in my next STAW Eaglemoss article.
This week I have had a lot of fun hunting down some very special story driving gameable Cool Small Star Trek Ships. All of these ships can be used in Hide & Seek, Capture-Rescue, and Kill-Save The Commander scenarios! Check these badass babies out gang!
Excited (Again) TREK Boss out!

TOY TIME AGAIN! This month I am celebrating Spring and so of course went all out and finally got some more of The Biggies that I have wanted for a while. Two BORG Cubes is glorious... FUN Even!
This ugly Blinggon monster never looked good to me... not as a Klingon Ship. As a Romulan BOP however; it is absolutely badass and wonderful!
I even had the nerve to place a nice order of Yamato 2199 and 2202 goodies... cause!

BOSS' BIG ATTACK WING PROJECT PART SIX: NEW FALL 2015 STAW EXPANSIONS !
Good ole Wizzies has accidentally made five new STAW Expansions that fit our BBA Scale just fine.
STAW WAVE 19 & 20 are adding five new Boss' BIG Approved models to our STAR TREK Fleets! It has been a while since Wizzies made some cool ships that fit into our upgraded scale. I like that these are here for Autumn... very nice!
October Wave 19 includes the Federation Delta Flyer, Klingon Bird of Prey IKS Rotarran, and Romulan RIS Talvath.
Wave 20 is coming in November and includes the Federation Constellation class USS Hathaway, Kazon Raider Halik, and Romulan (Reman) Scorpion class fighters. The Delta and Scorpions are new models and they look great in this tiny scale too.
Well gang that is about it for now. There are no exciting models coming out that we have not already shared, but it is nice that a handful of the smaller STAW goodies still fit into our fleets.

BOSS SHOP: BBA STAW SCALE BASES & RULES ADJUSTMENTS PROJECT OVERVIEW
You know I have been collecting these wonderful BIG ships for my BBA STAW Games. Now that I have a good few; enough to play some nice games, and I have my tables for my huge 5x7' set up... I need to get some bases done.
I have been thinking about how all of this is going to affect the actual game play. My BBA Scale does not cause to many issues. Because I have X-Wing EPIC in my head too, I have decided that Small and Large ships will work as normal, but the Huge ships will work differently.
Just as FFG chose to have special rules for these galactic titans, I am going to do the same thing but with some adjustments. I will go into all of that nerd detail later. For now I am concerned with getting bases under these models, so that they can be played and represented well on my table.
The FFG-WIZ Small and Large (which are Medium in BBA Scale, Yes... Uh-Oh!) bases are fine for corresponding ships. Large and Huge (BBA Scale) ships all need to be on GW Monster or 4x6" Tamiya display bases. I had planed to use Tamiya for Large (Medium BBA) ships too, as you can see above. That is not good for the overall game play, as I have discovered since I got to work on the rules adjustments. The ships affect the game by their bases, the ship models are not directly a part of the rules.
The base-ship scales in BBA STAW are:
Tiny- Runabout, Fighter, Special (Mine or Probe).
Small- Defiant, B'rel, Fighter Squadron.
Medium- Miranda, K'tinga, Galor.
Large- Excelsior, Vor'cha, D'kyr.
Huge- Galaxy, Deridex, Sphere.
Special- Space Station, Cube.
I think I have the base sizes figured out pretty good now, after a few months of playing around with these wonderful toys.
Now there are just the Huge ship base templates and range rulers... I have some work to do yet!
Say Wizzies, thanks for FUBARing the models!
More to come...

COLLECTION DIARY: MAY 2014
This was a cool month for my Boss' BIG Approved STAW Collection. I found many of the choice large models I have been wanting since I began my BBA project, particularly Klingon and Romulan ships, at a reasonable price.
Federation & Allies
I picked up some additional ships that I already have, like the Defiant and Excelsior classes. My Federation Allies have another Vulcan Cruiser, which is always nice to see IMO. The Bajorans also got a trio of new battle barges...Go little Miss Kira...Ha, Ha! I needed more than one of these babies for larger games...of course.
The new Federation lovely this month is that Boba Fett of a ship!
The background filling, often blown to bits, always hard to find in 1/2500 scale, and rarely in stock: the glorious Akira!
This is the first Eaglemoss ship I have in my collection. It is funny that it took me so long to get any of these fine models in the new series from this company. The ships that I want have been either ridiculously expensive or out of stock everywhere I have looked since February. I started the BBA project partly because of these models...now I finally have two of them, and there are more that fit our BBA scale coming!
Klingon
The wonderful Klingon Battle Cruiser ornaments have been out of stock for a while, even at Hallmark's site. They have been going for about $65 on average on eBay. I found a pair of them, which covers this awesome ship for my collection, for less than $80 delivered...I am happy. I also got a reasonable price on the infamous Elite Attack Di, and that even more elusive B'rel BOP ship card.
Romulan
I was bad this month.
I was greedy and insane.
I bought not just a second, but a second and third Warbird... Ahh!
Do I need three of these huge models, even on a nice 4x6' table?!
YES!
When I find these classics in NIB and NM condition for only $50 delivered for the wonderful pair of them!
I should be ashamed of myself...but I ain't!
I do believe I have Klingon Battle Cruisers and Romulan Warbirds covered...now!
Dominion
The second Eaglemoss ship in my collection is the awesome Battle Cruiser. This model is not in scale, for our BBA upgrade, but I got it anyway because I want to make some alternate ships to use for the faction.
I am absolutely buying the excellent Federation Models resin version of this ship, which is in scale. This neat little version is going to be as cool a model I think, once I get it converted into a Light Battle Cruiser.
For my games this is just as valid IMO as using the large and small BOP's for the Klingons, as different classes of similarly designed craft.
I got a trio of the lovable Attack Ships too...because I need ten... at least ten!
Borg
I got a second Death Star to convert into a Borg Sphere. This is a great looking model, and the perfect starting point for a Borg styled ship. I am going to finish the Destroyer Cube first before I start this one. I think the Sphere will be a lot of fun, with less work involved and about as much reward after the build is completed.
Other Assimilated Ships are on my list too, and these odd (to my collection) models will work fine for conversions. I already have my Warbirds, and plan to use the cute Warbird in the Adversaries set to make a Romulan Kerchan. My Klingon BOPs are covered also with my diecast ships, and so on. I purchased these models solely for future conversion projects.
An Assimilated BOP is a must have item.
Now that I have focused four months of my resources on Boss' BIG STAW Babies, I have enough models and rules stuff to have some real fun I think.
I still need to get more models of course, such as Dominion and Klingon large ships, but that can wait for a bit. Right now I want to continue work on the Borg and get my BBA Bases and some other things taken care of.
Also FFG has gone crazy and is finally releasing a lot of wonderful X-WING goodies...Ha, Ha!
Next month I am going to get back to work on my STAR WARS & X-WING Collection...

COLLECTION DIARY: MARCH 2014
This month I have pretty much rounded out my Federation Fleet, with the Hallmark ornaments versions of the TOS Film Era, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager models, and I have also got my Federation Allies started with a Vulcan Command Cruiser.
Federation & Allies
I am going to get another of these cool ships and some other Vulcan craft, as well as one or two Andorian Cruisers, for Enterprise Era games, and as general Federation Fleet allied ships for larger battles. I decided that my Dominion War Battles will not be on DS9 but rather around it. The cool little Hallmark DS9 Ornament will work perfectly as a Background Element in my ATTACK WING games, in the same way that I am using my beloved Deathstar models in X-WING. The wonderful little Federation Peregrine Attack Fighters made it to EBay this month, and since I am slowly building up for the Dominion War, I had to get a three pack of these babies!
Klingon
Bringing up the rear guard this month...even more Klingons! Never count the Klingons out...it is not a wise decision, and now they have the Flagship Upgrade too, along with the other factions included in this set of course.
Dominion
Last but not least is the meager start to my Jem'hadar Attack Ships, and a nice third squad of Cardassian Fighters to even the odds with the Peregrines.
Now (Ha, Ha!) for the icing on the cake this month: BOSS' BIG APPROVED STAW BASES...Yeah Baby! I need four or five more of these, but this is a good setup...for now.

COLLECTION DIARY: FEBRUARY 2014
This month I got a very good start on my STAR TREK Model Collection, in fact I can begin playing some ATTACK WING Games as soon as I get the rules. I joked about tossing the little models that come with the game in the trash, but the fact is that they will be fine as Backdrop ships.
This is the second time I have had so many packages delivered on the same day, that I had to use a shopping cart to bring them all up to my apartment...Ha, Ha! The first time I pulled this stunt was when I started my STAR WARS collection...
Federation
The heroes of the galaxy have has founded! I am going to build this faction with several model brands because The Federation has the most diverse Starfleet of all the races in STAR TREK.
This was the challenge from the begging of this endeavor, to get everything into 2/500 & 1/50 scale.
I am very pleased by the fact that I could make this Boss' BIG ATTACK WING Project of mine actually happen.
Klingon
I love the Klingons, and and I am going to have a very nice fleet for the faction! This is a decent start. I am going to use the classic AMT Vor'cha model to convert into either a Neg'varh, or a Bird of Death. The reason I have the different types of K'vort class BOP's is to use the Corgi model as a character's ship...just for fun. The rest of my K'vort BOP's will be Hot Wheels models.
Romulan
Probably the most amusingly treacherous evil faction in all of STAR TREK in my view, and I am going to have a lot of fun with them. I am using the very cool and screen accurate Playmates version of the Warbird for the Faction's Flagship. I am going to convert the Hallmark ornaments into other smaller versions of Warbirds...because I can, and it IS cool.
Dominion.
Are they the best Bad Guys in all of STAR TREK? How evil can Lizard-men and Snake-men be, when they are led by Shape-shifting-gods? I am going to build a very nice fleet of Cardassians and Jem'hadar. I will definitely be having several Dominion War battles in my ATTACK WING Games.
Borg
This is the most challenging faction to realize in my collection! They will be represented by a few scratch built models and several converted models to make up some cool Assimilated ships. I am using parts from several kits for the faction.
I focused on getting my BBAW Project started this month with a bang, however I still managed to even up my STAR BLAZERS Earth Defense Force Fleet, with another Main Battleship and Battle Carrier. I wanted two of these so I can have them cover Flagships, just as the little Destroyers and Escorts cover them.

BOSS' BIG ATTACK WING PROJECT PART FOUR: THRIFTY COLLECTING...WALKING THE TALKING!
I have been very happy to share with you friends of B6*R7 all that I currently know about building a serious and cool STAW collection in our go to scales of 1/2500 and 1/50. Now to demonstrate how easily one can achieve this I am going to share with you the reality of making this sort of project happen.
You can collect a properly scaled fleet worthy of appreciation, and do it for the cost I have outlined in previous episodes of this series. $10 to $20 per model is the golden figure I have given as our target. Here is what I was able to achieve with about two weeks of EBay searching in my free time.
$333.41 is the grand total including all shipping and handling fees,
this month, to get exactly 32 wonderful ships. I hope that my Star
Brothers out there will do the same while keeping within their financial means, and share their projects at
the forums where we chat.
The fun math says 32 ships x $10 = $320. So with a lot of searching on EBay, and going to Hobbylink, my long time source for cool model gear at a great price, I kept to our Boss' BIG Approved cost.
I hope this makes it real for you like minded collectors out there. Many times I had a cool model in my watch list and almost bid or paid for it as a buy now item. Then a new auction would be listed or because I changed my search words another auction would come up on my search. If you can not find a model or group of models that fit your budget do not buy them...Ha, Ha! You have to have discipline, and keep looking to find some of these awesome toys at a nice price! Remember the ultimate goal is a larger picture.
As my collection stands now I managed ten great big bucks per ship when you look at the whole...and that is close enough to perfect for me.
Of course the large resin models presented in episode three of the series will be an expensive treat, and I will have to buy them over time.
In the end, my collection as a whole will be closer to $20 per ship...and that is still awesome. You could say that for a mere $5 upgrade per ship to the $15 STAW Expansions standard cost...I fixed Attack Wing. If you are of the mind to do this and have a cool looking game on your table, YOU CAN DO THIS TOO.
This was a fun project! I will be posting a lot of STAR TREK ATTACK WING modeling articles soon, and one day I will even be able to post some cool battle logs, I think...
PART THREE: FIXING THE SCALE...INTO THE RESIN NEBULA!
THE THRIFT WILL BE WITH YOU... ALWAYS! (2019 UPDATE)!
