This month's Collection Diary is about to change some things here at The Battle Parlor! I have not been making game and modeling videos for a while now because for one thing I realized that it was a fool's errand to try to be a YouTube Hero... LOL! The other thing is my ancient PowerShot Camera and decent but still not great Logitech Webcam are not great for making videos that I feel are worth the effort to edit and publish. Now that I have my brand new Panasonic Lumix G7 4K Digital DSLR Camera I am going to be making new videos... better videos!

Obviously the new baby got a new paint job. Now take a closer look gang. Her nose-cockpit is sunk into the head crest and you can clearly see the shadow, rather than shaded wash paint-work. Now that is a joining point that is working like a cute plastic hollow toy egg. There are new hing structure connection points on her chest too. This girl's head rotates and her wings move... YAH!
Fantasy Flight has made some of the best games in the industry and I love that they are so committed to keeping things fun! For the most part FFG are doing very good work in my view.
Recently in the last few years FFG has introduced APPs for their Board Games. Mansions Of Madness 2nd Edition is the one that I can directly speak for as I own it. If you are not a serious Game Master-DM-Referee like myself; then these Apps are a cool new addition to pen & paper-board gaming. I feel that these hybrid games are fun and have a place in the biz.
Tim Gerritsen is one of the biggies involved in all of this coolness. Tim had a lot to do with FFG Games and now he is leading the heavy duty team involved in bringing us a number of Fantasy Flight Games properties as Video Games, according to today's PC GAMER article!

THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEADis the legit sequel to Night Of The Living Dead that George was going to make, but rights issues and funding caused the film deal to be sold later. Dan O'Bannon directed this crazy gore-fest to perfection. This is the film that made Smart Talking, Deadly Running, and Brain Eating Zombies a reality... lol!
THIS IS MY FAVORITE ZOMBIE FILM!
THE CROWis one of my all time favorite films. The original story by James O'Barr is fantasized truth and the emotional context that I get from watching this (having read The Crow graphic novels) moves me every time. It is actually difficult for me to see the film often because of it's brutally realistic narrative, but I watch it every Autumn... and love it!
FRIGHT NIGHTis the best Vampire film of the 80's era. While The Lost Boys and other cool offerings had flash and some good scares, Fright Night had everything. The effects and action are still fun to see, and at the time they beat other films with ease. The story is classic. The characters are all well developed and hearken back to the Hammer Horror Era; even the lead characters names are a homage. Tom Holland obviously loves the material and that is yet another reason why I love this classic Horror Masterpiece!
AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDONis The Best Horror Comedy ever made. Like ROTLD this film surprised most people. The story is serious most of the time and it scares the hel out of you, and yet it makes you laugh at certain moments with jokes that feel good and right for the characters. The way John Landis gives us this breathing room before he amps the tension back up is such a polite way to tell this cool story and to then kill us with the award winning effects and bloody violence! This film is so dam-good!
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1990) is the rare remake of a classic that made everything better. The effects, and acting, as well as the general presentation are all better than the original film. The best thing is that the content is given more weight and tells a better version of this important story. Fun, gory, and smart; this updated masterpiece is my second favorite Zombie film!
BRAM STOKER'S DRACULAis The Last Modern Gothic Masterpiece! Like The CROW this film is sometimes hard for me to watch. It moves me so much! I feel like the truths about being a good and worthy human are coming off the screen like a Spring Dew or Autumn Haze. Francis Coppola did everything right!

Many of you; my fellow Creepers, will like this playlist I made recently. This is some awesome HPL in HD, which of course is good stuff to listen to while I clean and prep all of these wonderful new models for painting and re-basing.
I decided (had to) upgrade my computer this month. My loyal old DELL Inspiron finally died on me after nearly five years of service. My NEW XPS DELL is a $1,200 beast and I am happy I got her!
Like most good things it cost what it is worth, thus I am going to be paying this baby off over the next six months... so The Collection Diary is going to be more tech and less toys. Actually this new XPS is a BAMF toy.
I had to get busy this month and got much of my Spring Cleaning done to get The Command Corner of The Battle Parlor ready for the new setup which is kinda nice.
Now that I have upgraded my tech-joints I will be able to make better videos too, so the future will be a lot more fun. I have a new monitor coming in this week too and once I get that setup I will get back to making Boss Shop Videos.

I am going to build my Ships of The Line for The Federation, Klingon Empire and The Dominion first. Once I get these done and add the other ships for these factions into the Main Forces; I will have some nice game options for my BIG Versionof STAR TREK ATTACK WING.
This week I got everything clipped and cleaned up for some base dry fitting. In week 2 I will wash and soak everything and after is has all air dried I will get to assembling all of these babies!
This month I got a few more of the rarer models that I have wanted for some time. Last months Jem' Hadar Battle Cruiser is joined this month by The Borg Cube. Go STAR TREK GOooo!!! I am going to keep on buying these BIG Trek goodies until I have my Boss' BIG Approved Collection completed this year! I also made a purchase from Shapeways for the first time in a couple of years. I am happy to report that they have improved their service.
