BOSS' LOTR: HARAD 🤍🦏✨ WHITE MOON ALLIANCE PART 4

King Jabbar is the leader of the Harad Mountain Giants. Late in The Second Age Near Harad boarder conflicts escalated. Gondor and Rohan became more active in redefining their far reaching territories. These brief but violent campaigns would eventually cause concern for the secluded Great Mountain Peoples and so King Jabbar resettled their territories higher in the Thunder Mountains.

I love the Trolls in Middle-earth but there are other cool huge creatures that Tolkien placed here and there in his stories and they are going to be in my collection. I am going to have a few good characters in my M-E SBG that are "good monsters". Beorn is one such creature that got a full story, and The Eagles are another type that we all know and love. Now I am expanding these wonderful game options with some actual Giants and half Giants.

BOSS' LOTR: MY HARAD ART 🤍🦏✨🦉 WHITE MOON ALLIANCE PART I

RIH BAYDA' is one of my Great Heroes in what I have rightly dubbed as Green Harad. This Great Mountain Owl is basically my Eastern equivalent to Gwaihir The Windlord of The West. I will go into more detail when I write her full article. This article is about the new art that I am doing for my Special Harad collections.

The following images demonstrate my process for painting the actual models that I am collecting for my special Good and Evil Harad armies. I am doing this work because it is very FUN and helps me decide exactly how these beautiful figures will look when they are completed. I have wanted to do some art for my expanded Middle-earth Universe for a while and this is the best way to get it done.

The B&W toned image is the initial step for me when doing full color paintings. Think of the Zenithal Prime stage in miniature painting... it is more or less the same for me when designing the look of my digital paintings.

My White Moon Knights art is just getting serious now that I have been working on this special faction for about two months. These are some of the first images specifically for the Knights... more to come.

The White Moon Knights have been finding their way into the backgrounds of my White Moon Alliance Hero Art over recent weeks but I am about to do full paintings for them in the coming month.

BOSS' LOTR: HARAD 🤍🦏✨ WHITE MOON ALLIANCE PART 3

The Haradrim are a nomadic people that have a varied culture and thus practice specific ways of living. Over time many have built and settled into a handful of cities which are in their way akin to Gondor. Outside of these great places are various tribes and a few small kingdoms which guard the boarders of Harad. The noble family of Thun mastered such a kingdom facing the mountains of far eastern Harad.  The Darkness Slayer 🧙‍♂️🔮🦉 mentored Prince Zufar Thun 🦁 (and others of Near and Far Harad) in the same way that Gandalf guided Bilbo and Aragorn towards achieving their best destinies.

I am building the WHITE MOON Alliance of Prince Thun! This cool little army represent the GOOD HARAD people that resisted the influence of Sauron. Of course these people hail from the many citizens of the smaller border cities. They could more or less be ignored because the evil people of Harad did not consider them as strong enough to join them in their full deluded support of their new Dark God.

Ole'rengo is Thun's trusted Mumak and battle mount. His family bloodline has faithfully and boldly served The House of Thun for generations. Ole'rengo is still young for his race, yet he has earned respect and is known for being fearless on the battlefield.

BOSS' LOTR: HARAD 🧙‍♂️🔮🦉✨ WHITE MOON ALLIANCE PART 2

The Blue Wizards 🧙‍♂️🔮🦉 are among the coolest characters that Tolkien left behind in his room full of notes. It would of been great to have a grander story about them. When we consider just how huge the War of The Ring story is, I admit that I completely understand why these characters fuller story got left in John's piles of notes. We do have enough information about the Blue Wizards to understand that the best way to use them in this game is to treat them as Eastern Gandalfs, because they did the same work there that he did in the west.

I chose Morinehtar The Darkness Slayer as my Eastern Wizard hero. He mentored Prince Thun (and others of Far Harad) in the same way that Gandalf guided Bilbo and Aragorn towards achieving their best destinies. 

In my little daydreams about these snippets of story; Aragorn met Morinehtar and other important people in the boarder kingdoms of Far Harad. Do we know for sure... no, but it is something that I feel Tolkien wanted to explore, and he would have done, if he had lived ten more years... 🍷🧐🎩

I am building the WHITE MOON Alliance of Prince Thun! This cool little army represent the GOOD HARAD people that resisted the influence of Sauron. Of course these people hail from the many citizens of the smaller border cities. They could more or less be ignored because the evil people of Harad did not consider them as strong enough to join them in their full deluded support of their new Dark God.

These free people of Harad aided Gondor and Rohan before, during and after the War of The Ring.

I love this alternate cool (temperature wise) color scheme as a good Harad army.

I found even more wonderful new alternate miniatures for my ME-SBG this week! I have been looking for cool stuff to add to the collection a lot because I am in that crazy planning-buying stage... and it is always fun for me. I love most of the official GW HARAD 🐍 🐘🦂🦏 and ROHAN 🐎⚔🏹⚡ miniatures, but I still want some better options for some of the Heroes and Elite units. Look at these glorious MAHUD JUNGEL and ROHAN WOODWOSE! 💞

The idea for adding some alternate and deeply thematic ELITE Scouts to these wonderful armies has been in my mind since I began to collect this cool game.

BOSS' LOTR: ALTERNATE ARTILLERY FOR MORDOR 💀 GONDOR ✨ & ROHAN 🐴

I found most of my Artillery models for MORDOR 💀 GONDOR ✨ and ROHAN 🐴 this week and just purchased seven of these cool war machines last night! 🤗🛒💞 I am silly-happy.

I am starting this collection with a big reliable Catapult for Mordor. I will get some wheels and plenty of creepy bits to evil it up good before it rolls onto the battlefield. For Gondor and Rohan I will be using one Trebuchet supported by two Ballistae. I feel like I need to have these versatile artillery batteries for both armies because of the monsters they are going to battle. I can reorganize these units as needed of course. I will be adding a few bits to these weapons to bring them more firmly into Middle-earth along with their Mordor counterpart.

I am very happy that I found some cool alternate artillery models that I actually like much better than the overpriced and IMO very bland GW equivalents. I have to chuckle at the fact I just purchased 1 Catapult, 4 Ballistae, 2 Trebuchet, and a cute little Pumpkin Patch Garden (that all look fantastic) for just $45 delivered. I still need to get some crew models of course, but that is no big deal.

BOSS' LOTR: MY NEW LOTR HEROES & VILLAINS MINIATURES PART 1

I always like to add some fun things to all of my Miniatures games, as my friends know very well. This need comes from growing up playing all of the great RPG games. I love that GW has made a lot of LOTR models, but in my brief time with the game I have found the HEROES selections to be limited. Sure the main characters are there, but what about the many supporting characters other than goofballs such as Barliman Butterbur 🍞🧈🧀🍺😁... I need a little better and more! 🤗
