EAGLEMOSS MODELS: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA BLOOD & CHROME COMING THIS WINTER!

The Eaglemoss Battlestar Galactica collection has a good Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome series now... finally including the wonderful B&C GALACTICA! This is one of my favorite BSG ships... ever. This mini-series should have been a full series.

THE END OF ARES BSG SSB... BUT NOT BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!

Ares didn't "Roll The Hard Six"... no they dropped the ball on this wonderful game... real bad! I know that they are a small company but the game was winning awards. The miniatures looked great, and the rules were fast, fun, and simply wonderful in terms of representing the Reimagined BSG series combat.

Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles should have been glorious.

My experience with Ares BSG SSB begane soon after it was announced in the Summer of 2018.

I have been friends with Roberto for the two years BSG SSB has been a property. He was delightful and we had fun on FaceBook for sure. I had the miserable experience of watching him slowly became distant as people started to complain about the atrocious release schedule. Roberto and Andreas made a lot of cool posts about new product... but it got stale! We got lots of promises, but very little came to be.

THE COLONIAL SHIPS WE WERE PROMISED 2018-2019

THE CYLON SHIPS WE WERE PROMISED 2018-2019

In my time knowing them I realized that Ares Games are like ancient wizard who are slow to do any actual magic. I am sure many of us wanted them to be like Gandalf say... at Bilbo's birthday party!

A few people who liked my enthusiasm and frequent postings about BSG SSB on relevant FBGroups warned me about the sleepy way Ares produces their products. I ignored their friendly advice because I was happy to see a cool miniatures game FINALLY being made for BATTLESTAR GALACTICA!

EVERYTHING ARES RELEASED WAS LATER THAN EXPECTED!

ARES BSG SSB EPIC... NOPE!

I want to be clear here gang. I am not angry... not anymore, just disappointed with Ares Games! I became friends with Andreas too in the early days of BSG SSB, and none of the failures we have seen in the last two years are his fault, not at all! As the Lead Game Designer for BSG SSB Andrea has been wonderful! I hate to say it but Roberto, and plain bad planning is what ruined this franchise. It is truly a genuine shame!

I have had the privilege to chat with a few hundred people about BSG SSB over the last two years and more than half of them told me they just wanted the BSG TOS Ships to be released. The next comment from at least half of them was: I am going all in and will likely buy a few hundred dollars of BSG TOS products!

So Was I my BSG Brothers and Sisters.

BSG SSB had only two releases by the time of it's first birthday (both ridiculously late), and I was well aware that the game was suffering from low sales. Of course this was because products got previewed but never released. In fact the game only saw one expansion come out on time (after it had been postponed once... of course). Why did Ares murder the game and themselves like this?

NOPE... NOPE... NOPE!!!

If Ares had just sold the classic ships first and if Roberto had spent less time chirping about social agendas which hurt sales for the company too, BSG SSB would of sold much better. The limited resources and low sales excuses started to make the rounds online, and Spaceship Packs we had been promised (YES Roberto said promise a few times) remained in limbo.

ARES BSG SSB FIRST CYLON WAR... NOPE!

"Limited resources and low sales!" was an excuse I continued to hear from friends closer to Ares than I was. That became Felgercarb to me because all kinds of established products continued to be released... for FRAK Sakes! Then delightful covid... blah... and evil-china factories... blah. Nope you had already frakked up the game by that time Ares!

It has been interesting to see how this franchise blossomed and then died over the last two and a quarter years.I had many hundreds (and even a few thousand) views on all of my early BSG SSB articles here. I KNOW that in the first year people had a lot of excitement for this cool little game. By the second year however it went down fast. My BSG articles barely got a hundred views then, and people were openly complaining on the BSG and Ares FBGroups.

SOooo now the teasing and the felgercarb promises are finally over and the sleepy Ares-BSG game that we dreamt about is just leaving us all behind. Meanwhile Ares Games is off the hock and can continue to putz around... being small.

I am alright with this ridiculous situation and I will continue to enjoy BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and BSG GAMES in my own way. Ares made enough for us to play with... and we can have fun, just not as much fun as we wanted to have. It's A'ight.

IN 2 & 1/2 YEARS THIS IS ALL WE GOT... FRAK YOU ARES, BUT HAVE A NICE DAY!

I am going to continue loving this wonderful universe, and when something else new comes out again someday in the foreseeable future I just might buy it and love it too... MAYBE!

COLLECTION DIARY: DECEMBER 2019

Colonial One ends the year with a bang for my Battlestar Galactica Collection! I love this model! It looks great with my Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles miniatures and my BSG EPIC Scale Game too!

Eaglemoss made two great models to end 2019 with the Cylon Basestar in October and the Colonial One this month! They did this with the Original Galactica and New Pegasus early this year. That has all been great. However their planned release in 2020 are all the large scale fighters and even a New Cylon Centurion too. I love that Eaglemoss is making this series, but since I only buy the Capitol ships to use for BSG EPIC there is not much coming out for my collection until tale 2020.

I am very pleased to finally own a good selection of BSG Capitol Ships for my BATTLESTAR GALACTICA STARSHIP BATTLES EPIC Games! I hope my B6*R7 Fliers had a great holiday too!

THE BSG UNIVERSE BY ARES AND EAGLEMOSS: 6+6=GLORY!

Ares games and Eaglemoss Productions have both been working for just under two years building their Miniatures Game and Model Collections. Both companies have just over a dozen releases. If you know The Battlestar Galactica universe; you know that 12 and 13 are important numbers with multiple meanings. I like that these companies have randomly (fatefully?) aligned in their efforts to bring us a great Miniatures Game and Collectible Models!

The American Debut of The Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles Game was at Gen Con in August 2018! A awesome social media friend of mine Roberto Di Meglio stared in a number of cool and fun to watch informative videos at the event. As he told us his intentions for the game: speaking with authority as The Production Manager of Ares Games... I liked him immediately!

The next Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles Game debut at Spiel in October (Halloween-week) 2018 was the start of large BSG SSB group event demo plays!

ARES has released six models thus far with alternate paint-jobs making up a total of fourteen Spaceship Expansion Packs! There are two more models already done: the TOS Viper MkI and updated (Razor-B&C-1st Cylon War) Cylon Raider. These two models will makeup the next five Spaceship Expansion Packs which are all planned for an early 2020 release!

The BSG COL is looking great! The series is going to continue past the original plans of being a limited edition of twelve issues! I expect that Eaglemoss is going to make everything... hotdam... like they have done with Star Trek. I am not buying the entire BSG Collection. I am using the six wonderful Capitol ships for my versions of BSG EPIC (Star Wars Armada) scaled games.

CELEBRATING A COLONIAL CHRISTMAS!

The Eaglemoss BSG Collection Issue 13 is bringing Colonial One to the fleet and gaming table!

Colonial One is scheduled for release December 31st, and is available for preorder in the USA web store right now! I am getting mine as part of my BSG Subscription! My advice to non-subscribers is to preorder this issue by December 1st... otherwise you'll likely miss the initial release.

There is nothing else to do now except be glad I was wrong
...and celebrate a wonderful COLONIAL CHRISTMAS!
