FFG ANNOUNCES THE IMPERIAL RAIDER FOR X-WING EPIC!

 FANTASY FLIGHT GAMES HAS ANNOUNCED THEIR IMPERIAL RAIDER HUGE SHIP EXPANSION!!!

FFG has made a great move to solidify the STAR WARS X-WING EPIC Game experience! So many people have wanted to play EPIC, but they (rightfully) felt no motivation to support the up scaled X-Wing game as Imperial players when there were only Rebel Huge Ships. Sure we could bring a dozen TIE ships, of our choice, but we still wanted our own cool Huge Ships!

Well my Star Brothers as Chris stated in recent months; "Epic... we are going to fix that." and sure enough they did!

Just look at all of that new paper... I LOVE IT!

The new Imperial Epic Expansion would be cool enough with just the Raider, but no... we also get the long awaited fixes for the TIE Advanced with a lovely new repaint of this beloved model!

I have been keeping a close eye on how well X-WING EPIC has been doing because I love the game. Miniatures Market and Cool Stuff took twice as long to sell out of Tantives while the Transport went out of stock in just a few months. I won't bore you with the math, but I think it is a safe bet that all future Epic Expansions will include some type of neat small ship variant. That is the smart way to go FFG... keep it up Star Brothers!

FFG POST THE ARMADA FIGHTERS ARTICLE THIS WEEK!

Fantasy Flight Games posted their Fighters Coming In article this week, and it looks like a whole lot of cool action is coming our way, for we Fleet Commanders! 

I think I am going to be ridiculous when it comes to buying the Fighters Expansions... they are going to be to cool to not own them in the hundreds.

Just look at how cute these little guys are...

The rules for fighter squads are slick, smart, and downright FUN!!!

FFG POST THE STARVIPER PREVIEW THIS WEEK!

FFG posted the StarViper Preview today in their Lethal Ambitions article! I love this ship!

The StarViper Expansion brings a lot of cool new options to the glory that is Scum & Villainy!

The StarViper reads like a TIE Defender-TIE Interceptor combo to me. I think this is an interesting ship that will be a lot of fun on the table.

YAMATO COSMO REVERSE VERSION AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE THIS WEEK!

The new Cosmo Reverse Version of Space Battleship Yamato is coming this month, and she is beautiful!

The awesome factor this kit brings to gaming is off the scale. The badass characters ships are all included with this version of the Yamato! How cool is that? VERY Cool!

I was surprised that Bandai made this new kit, and I am very happy that they did!!! For my Star Brothers that are not in the 2199 know so to speak, these new ships are the equivalents in X-WING of all Large Ships and both sets of Aces Expansions for the 2199 fleets.
The previous model sets gave us all of the cool fighters and fighter-bombers. This new set brings in the rest of the ships from the series, which allows for some absolutely thematic games!

I recommend purchasing this beauty from Hobby Link Japan.

I am very pleased that Bandai is continuing this excellent model series by adding all new special ships in repackaged variant ships kits. It is a lot like the Aces Expansions, and as a modeling gamer it makes me very happy!

THE ARMADA WAVE 1 PREVIEW!

FFG posted their Wave One Preview of the STAR WARS ARMADA Expansions this week and it is glorious!!!

I love all of this Wave! It is a great start for the game, and in my firm and reasonably well educated view these ships represent the STAR WARS Universe very well. I am particularly happy about the tiny fighters being released, that is just cool!

I am all on board with STAR WARS ARMADA!

FFG POST THE SECOND MOST WANTED PREVIEW THIS WEEK!

FFG posted their The Galaxy's Most Wanted Part Two article and it rocks! We get to see the other half of the Scum goodies, namely Firesprays and Hawks! I love that Fantasy Flight Games had the good sense to bring these ships into the faction... it works!

Most of us love the Firesprays and the new versions of Boba and Kath are very cool... of course! What stands out for me, in almost the same glory (Ha, Ha!), are the new versions of the HWK-290.
The Crappie Ole Crow is about to become the Deadly Dark Phoenix!

I like all of these new pilots! Their abilities are designed to work perfectly with the new Illicit upgrades! These ships are not going to break the game... but they sure will make for some neat and hurtful synergies with other Scum ships. I feel the Scum HWK's are going to be a lot of fun, and see more use than their Rebel cousins.

Who knew that one of the nice support, but least favorite, low power ships in the game could become one of the coolest troublesome mid-range killers?!

STAR WARS ARMADA PREVIEWS... JUST ABOUT AWESOME!

Are you guys watching this? I let last weeks preview: Capitol Ships In Battle slip by because I was busy. Now that this weeks preview: Set Your Course is out I am keeping a close eye on this game again.

There are a lot of people on the fence about ARMADA I think, because the idea of huge fleet games may seem less personal, compared to dog fighting with your named pilots. I can understand that. I think the game is going to be crazy, and just as fun in it's own way. With that said it is a different style of game, and it will be it's own thing for sure. I look forward to it!

Sometimes you just want to go BIG and ARMADA is a cool way to do it, I think!

FFG POST THE MOST WANTED PREVIEW THIS WEEK!

Y-Wings get their due with Most Wanted! The first Illicit Dealings preview combined with this weeks Most Wanted preview has shown us at least five nice Y-WING ONLY Mods or Titles... and altogether they are just about awesome! FFG went buck wild today in their The Galaxy's Most Wanted, Part One article.

I need three of these wonderful boxed sets... three at the very least, I think!

FFG has done their work well.

No more complaining... not from me anyhow, the Y-Wings are fixed now!

FFG POST THE SECOND SCUM AND VILLAINY PREVIEW TODAY!

FFG posted their second Scum and Villainy preview today in their Illicit Dealings article. I absolutely love everything about SCUM, and I am going to be ridiculous when it comes to collecting the ships for this forthcoming faction!

Today's preview is cool from top to bottom, but as a longtime fan of the ugly old Y-Wing the stand out upgrade card posted today has to be the much needed, long awaited, and very appreciated BOMB LOADOUT! I have been doing this all along, because I do not allow the shortcomings of these game companies to limit my fun with my toys in my game parlor... but it is nice to see an official fix coming out.

The beloved Y-WING can finally be a bomber... and it is about time!!! Now get that TIE Advanced love out Fantasy Flight Games... we know you will do it right.

THE AMT CADET SERIES DS9 SET IS COMING!

The AMT 1/2500 Cadet Series DS9 Set is scheduled for release this month just in time to celebrate Autumn with Evil-snake-people's orange/brown warships!

These 1/2500 scale models fit nicely into The Boss' BIG Approved Series, and are a good option for upgrading your STAW Collection.

The Cardassian ship is 5 1/2" long, and that is just about perfect The set may be available for purchase at anytime this month. The Defiant is a reissue from the DS9 Station kit. To my knowledge the Saratoga is an older model finally released, and the Galor is a brand new model for the Cadet Series.
We have three versions of the Galor with this set, for our BBA Scale! Now to get going on building my Dominion War fleets up a little faster, I think.

FFG POST THEIR SECOND ARMADA PREVIEW TODAY!

FFG gave us a second preview of the forthcoming STAR WARS ARMADA starter set in their Command Your Fleet To Victory article today!

I am very happy to see this new version of STAR WARS Miniatures Battles! I am certainly keeping an eye out for these very interesting bits of information from Fantasy Flight Games!

I will buy this game as soon as it becomes available!

FFG PREVIEWS REBEL ACES DUE OUT NEXT WEEK!

Fantasy Flight Games has posted a final preview for Rebel Aces and updated the status to; due out next week.

There are a lot of cool ways to make both of these ships much better. I think the A-Wings are good now. The B-Wings are absolutely awesome now... and I love that!

I am a huge fan of the B-Wing, and the A-Wing is okay too, so I am happy that this expansion is finally coming out!

The Team Covenant gang have already posted a nice unboxing video too, which is always fun to watch.

FFG STAR WARS GAMES - GEN CON 2014 REPORT: SATURDAY

Fantasy Flight Games charges into the weekend still going at warp speed, and we love them for it!

The Scum and Villainy Faction was fully previewed. I absolutely love it too! The team at Fantasy Flight Games have shown us an unprecedented level of commitment to their STAR WARS Products, which anyone who claims to love Star Wars should more than appreciate!

The SWAG provided in the Most Wanted Expansion is almost literally saying; "This is a Complete Faction from day one!" You can see that S&V has been given the same quality treatment that all FFG products enjoy. There are all kinds of goodies here including a new version of Boba Fett with Greedo, Jawas, alternate HWK's, more Droids, and... and... and!!!

STAR WARS ARMADA Demos continue over the weekend of course, and after further investigation into the new game I have fallen in completely in love with it. I am certainly going to buy into the complete product range.

A lot of FFG STAR WARS Gamers wanted a tabletop miniatures game in the vain of older war-games. Now that Gen Con has conclude we know that STAR WARS ARMADA, with the STAR WARS IMPERIAL ASSAULT answers that desire for most of us. I do not see Fantasy Flight Games ever making a ground based 40K-like version of X-WING. They are partnered with games workshop and that company would not appreciate direct competition from FFG.

STAR WARS IMPERIAL ASSAULT looks like a solid game. I am not surprised that FFG made it happen. I mean come on, you can essentially RPG Star Wars and that rings true to people like myself who did play the classic West End Games RPG back in the day. I am happy to see something that has that ring of past echos and yet is entirely modern in the design and play. Very nice work FFG... very nice indeed!

Zach and Stephen have a nice chat with the vice President of Fantasy Flight Games; Mr. Steve Horvath. This is a cool fellow indeed. They talked about all of the new Star Wars products and it was interesting to say the least.

FFG STAR WARS GAMES - GEN CON 2014 REPORT: FRIDAY

Fantasy Flight Games goes into warp drive right after they dropped bomb after bomb on us during their twelve o'clock high noon In-Flight Report! The full video for this event has yet to be uploaded so I will post it in another report.

FFG has released so much cool new product that the Gen Con Governors had to call out their Stormtroopers Transports to accommodate the teaming masses in their most desperate hour of trying to get to the FFG Retail Area!

Fantasy Flight Games launches their all new miniatures adventure board game STAR WARS IMPERIAL ASSAULT.

I have been quietly expecting some kind of ground based Star Wars game from FFG, and here it is! While I am delighted by what they have done, I have to admit that I am also very relieved that they did a neat D&D Adventure Game rather than trying to incorporate ground troops into the X-WING Game.

I have been slowly building everything that I need to make my own Star Wars Ground Based Game, so it was a great relief to know that our FFG friends have been sensible with their fine board game. That leaves it open for me to continue being completely unsensible with my own little Star Wars Ground War project.

THE BLACK SUN RISES!!! 
A third faction coming to X-Wing has been a red hot topic at the FFG Forums for a while now. I happily took part in much of this speculation.  Now that this wonderful new faction is here screaming into the game at full force... my Winger Brothers... I can not tell you in words just how very pleased I am about it!!!
Pictured above we see Wave Six of STAR WARS X-WING, this is however not the whole of the Scum & Villainy Faction. There will be new rules included in these ships to convert previous ships into Black Sun ships. Chief among these are the Firespray-31 and HWK-290.

FFG continues their STAR WARS ARMADA previews with one of my favorite Alliance Capitol Ships; The MARK II Assault Frigate, and the full range of wonderful little Rebel and Imperial Fighters and Bombers. This is all beyond cool! This is also our answer to the reason why we did not get any Imperial Epic Huge Ships. Armada is what X-WING EPIC cannot be. I am a little disappointed, but the grandeur of Armada, and the fact that I can make my own Vigil and other Imperial Capitol Ships will suffice. FFG may still do some more Huges but who knows what they will be or when they will be produced.

X-WING COMMAND was announced today too. This is Fantasy Flight Games Official Squadron Builder with additional nice functionality. Great guys, now make all of the Official X-Wing Acrylic Tokens available to us too...
