The Blue Wizards ๐ง♂️๐ฎ๐ฆ are among the coolest characters that Tolkien left behind in his room full of notes. It would of been great to have a grander story about them. When we consider just how huge the War of The Ring story is, I admit that I completely understand why these characters fuller story got left in John's piles of notes. We do have enough information about the Blue Wizards to understand that the best way to use them in this game is to treat them as Eastern Gandalfs, because they did the same work there that he did in the west.
I chose Morinehtar The Darkness Slayer as my Eastern Wizard hero. He mentored Prince Thun (and others of Far Harad) in the same way that Gandalf guided Bilbo and Aragorn towards achieving their best destinies.
In my little daydreams about these snippets of story; Aragorn met Morinehtar and other important people in the boarder kingdoms of Far Harad. Do we know for sure... no, but it is something that I feel Tolkien wanted to explore, and he would have done, if he had lived ten more years... ๐ท๐ง๐ฉ
✨ From John's Last Writings ๐
Their task was to circumvent Sauron: to bring help to the few tribes of Men that had rebelled from Melkor-worship, to stir up rebellion ... and after his first fall to search out his hiding place (in which they failed) and to cause [?dissension and disarray] among the Dark East ... They must have had very great influence on the history of the Second Age and Third Age in weakening and disarraying the forces of the East ... who would both in the Second Age and Third Age otherwise have ... outnumbered the West.
