FFG IN FLIGHT REPORT - GENCON 2019!

One of the best parts of GENCON for me each year is the always fun to watch Fantasy Flight Games In Flight Report! This year we got a whole bunch of cool STAR WARS LEGION news! WOW!

This was another good year for very cool toys from FFG!

COLLECTION DIARY: JULY 2019

I have not posted a STAR TREK Collection Diary in a while... it is fun to be back into buying the new models and some of the old ones I ignored back in the day. I have had the Enterprise E as a 1/2500 model kit for years, To be honest it is a fragile flimsy thing and I never felt good about putting the effort into building the thing only to easily break it while playing games.
I can finally add the Sovereign Class to my BIG Games as the Eaglemoss XL Edition is in perfect 1/2500 scale and it is a very sturdy model! I got the wacky Discovery Vulcan Cruiser because it is a cool ship (despite the show) and my beloved Vulcans NEEDED a nice new ship added to their fleet! 
I always thought the Titan was out of scale... Oops, but it turns out that while it is like a Sovereign Class, it is actually about the size of a Constitution Class! Learning this about Titan as I looked at Eaglemoss models again in recent months... I knew I had to finally buy this cool ship!

BSG EAGLEMOSS: MODERN BASESTAR ISSUE 12 UPDATE!

I got an update this week on my Eaglemoss BSG Collection...The year is finishing with a bang!

So it is going to be another CYLON CHRISTMAS this year. The MODERN BASESTAR is Issue number 12 in the BSG Collection and will release at years end! That is going to make it two in a row... which is hilarious! 

The only way to have made this release better is if Eaglemoss had made BASESHIP (TOS) issue number 6!

Based on the new preview images the Modern Basestar is a larger model than the Baseship. I like that they did this because the Modern design is slim. By making this model a little bigger; the pair of Cylon bases will look great on the table together, and with the little ships zooming around them!

ARES PREVIEWS THE BLOOD & CHROME VIPER MKIII!

Ares games is working all of the time to make their games great! I happen to be very keen on what they are doing with a few of them, particularly BATTLESTAR GALACTICA STARSHIP BATTLES! This is a property that many people want to be great. I say all good things come in time my Friends!

This first preview of the Viper MkIII will soon be followed by the Cylon Razor raider!

We can look for ORIGINAL SERIES Vipers and Raiders this Autumn, and then BLOOD & CHROME ships are set for release in late 2019 early 2020!

For me this is the better version of The Galactica Universe because you can do so much with it. The developers are not limited by the old or new series, and thus I am most excited by what Ares is going to do with THE FIRST CYLON WAR!

FFG ANNOUNCES LUKE AND VADER OPERATIVES!

Fantasy Flight is making this game better and better! I love that they have made alternate versions of Luke and Vader. Both of these characters had duel rolls in the trilogy and novels, so it IS Perfection in my book! Checkout the coolness in the The Last Jedi article!

So these newer sculptures are great! It is clear with each new release that Fantasy Flight is going to continue to strive to make The Legion Game look as good as they possibly can!

These new expansions verify that FFG is going to fix that POS HE-ia thing that they pooped out as Leia last year. This is all good news in my book! Go FFG GOooo!

FFG POST STAR WARS ARMADA GAME PLAY: REBELLION IN THE RIM!

Well it has been a while since I felt any real excitement for the actual game of STAR WARS ARMADA, but this NEW Rebellion In The Rim stuff from Fantasy Flight games is pretty cool ! I might have to buy this one, check it out gang!

Ares BATTLESTAR GALACTICA STARSHIP BATTLES Game has been out for a while and it is good to see videos like this are still being made as new people discover how cool the game actually is! If you are new to the game this is a going to be a fun and helpful video for you to enjoy.

FFG PREVIEWS THE XW2 EPIC UPDATES... THEY ROCK!

I have played STAR WARS X-WING EPIC since it launched years ago... in another era. I have to say from what I am seeing and reading; FFG FIXED EPIC! I have done much of this stuff here at The Battle Parlor for years. It is very good that Fantasy Flight actually made it official for the games long term health!

The same basic thrifty collecting principles I demonstrated way back in YEAR ONE of this ongoing project still apply today! I have to admit that hunting down these in scale toys is still great fun. I am also very happy that BOSS' BIG APPROVED STAW is not a thing of my gaming past, as new models continue to be made!

$15 per ship is... delightful! Keep an eye on Eaglemoss gang, they are always doing fun things over there! More nice new ships are coming into our 1/2500'ish BBA STAW Scale this year!

BOSS' BIG STAW STORAGE

Now that I am buying some more larger models for my Boss BIG Star Trek Collection I have gone back to my models cases and reorganized them to make room for the forthcoming reinforcements! I used to have these large Eaglemoss and Hallmark ships laid out in one layer in each case. I decided that it would be easy and smarter to stack them into my leftover STAW and Eaglemoss ship boxes. Now I have to dig a little bit to get to some of the ships, but the collection is taking up half of the space it used to, and I have nice freshly cleaned empty cases ready to use for the new ships!
