COLLECTION DIARY: SEPTEMBER 2019

I am very happy to be back into BIG Trekking! I am going to have a whole lot of fun getting my nice STAR TREK Collection all caught up with the new streams of products!

It is fun to be able to have the more iconic ships in Boss' BIG Scale... they look so dam-good on the table!

Not only am I back into buying the new models and some of the old ones I ignored back in the day, but I have decided to go extra crazy and start collection 30MM STAR TREK MINIATURES! I am going to use them for fun boarding parties and away missions and so forth on a cute little side-board, while the starship battle rages on the main game table. Cause I can do that too.

FFG PREVIEWS THE NEW EPIC TANTIVE IV EXPANSION!

ARES PREVIEWS THE VIPER MKI!

Ares Games starts the week off right with their Previews of TOS Classic Viper and it's NEW Reimagined Series Viper Mk1, which is an updated version of the ship! This all looks fantastic! Ares plans to release these ships along with the TOS Cylon Raiders in the first quarter of 2020!

BOSS' BIG STAR TREK: NEW EAGLEMOSS GOODIES (PART 2)

It is a pleasure to continue sharing more good news for our BIG Trek Fleets. Eaglemoss has recently made some more ships that we can add to our awesome 1/2500 scale'ish collections!

Star Trek: The Official Starship Collection: 56 features the Saber Class U.S.S. Yeager as seen in Star Trek: DS9, VOY and the film STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT! I had been using the little Wizzies Saber, but I recently reviewed Federation Fleets again (when the XL Akira was announced) and found that Saber Class ships are actually a little larger than Miranda Class ships. This version is beautiful and perfectly in scale with the rest of the 1/2500 scaled fleet!

Star Trek: The Official Starship Collection: 165 features the Karemma Starship as seen in Star Trek: TNG, VOY and DS9. I like that Eaglemoss made this deep-cut ship as it will give us more options for general games as a Karemma or Bajoran ship, and it adds another support ship for Dominion Fleets!

Star Trek: The Official Starship Collection: 115 features the Tellarite Cruiser as seen in Star Trek: ENTERPRISE. I like that this is one of the Founding Races of The Federation and so I recently (this week in fact) added it to my collection for the sake of completion and because Space Pigs are fun! I have a couple of Andorian and several Vulcan ships so this ship adds even more options for games! This ship was released last year, but like the Saber Class, I recently confirmed it as being in scale for our BIG TREK Fleets, and it is thus worthy of joining our collections of TREK Toys!

FFG previews the newest Battlefield Expansion: Crashed Escape Pod in the A Journey Begins article. This is a smart way to bring R2-D2 and C3-P0 into STAR WARS LEGION! I am sure most of us are very happy to see these old friends join the family!

GET READY FOR A CYLON HALLOWEEN AND A COLONIAL CHRISTMAS!

I got an update this week on my Eaglemoss BSG Collection. The year is finishing with a bang! I have learned today that my wonderful Clylon Basestar is shipping in the first week of October. That is wonderful because Halloween is my favorite holiday! 

I expected Issue 12 to finish the year. That is not the case, I now know; as Eaglemoss is bringing us some Colonial Glory in December with Colonial One in BSG Collection Issue 13!

So it is not going to be another CYLON CHRISTMAS this year. The switch to October is fine... because:

STAR WARS X-WING SECOND EDITION EPIC GAME PREVIEW!

STAR WARS X-WING has been a lot of fun for me, but it is always at it's best when played EPIC Style. The NEW EPIC is glorious and I love it even more than the first edition. Go FFG GOooo!

Best believe BIG Daddy Joe is getting three of the badass conversion kits come new Years YAH-Baby BABES! I need SIX of these wonderful NEW Huge Bases: because...
