COLLECTION DIARY: AUGUST 2022

I managed to get a pair of these beast for $36 total... about two months back. I should of known this was to good to be true since they normally cost almost $60 for one model. Of course this was due to the upcoming bankruptcy Eaglemoss was preparing for. It is clear to all of us now that the ridiculous prices the company wanted for all of their new models for the STAR DECK shows on pathetic paramount basically caused the fall of this once great toy company.

BATTLETECH: DFA BATTLE VIDEOS - COOL TERRAIN

I like Death From Above's Battletech game videos, particularly because of the terrain setups they have in every game. Here are a couple of their recent games with all kinds of great looking wilderness and full city environments. The actual games are often fun to watch and I expect that my B6*R7 Fliers will enjoy these videos.

This NEW series is a spinoff of NEW FIGHTERS & SHUTTLES PART 1 

This little series is about The EMOTES. As many of my B6*R7 Fliers know I like to make Emotes for my own enjoyment and to use as icons to represent my Starship Collections. In the past several years I have made hundreds for STAR WARS and less than that for STAR TREK. I am in the mood again to make more of my little Starship Cartoons, and I am going to get Boss' BIG Star Trek up to date with my actual vast collection.

I have always loved DS9 and it's featured classic DOMINION WAR episodes are some of the best of this beloved Sci-Fi Universes stories. The introduction of super cool and creepy SECTION 31 was so much fun! In my Boss' BIG STAW games I often use them as a main force to counter The Borg's rampages into Federation space.

BOSS' BATTLETECH: TECH TURF - CITY BUILDINGS: COM🌠STAR PART 1

 

As most of us understand how cities work I am of course continuing my CITY TECH layout with the Industrial sector of my city. These are the buildings located right next to factory and transit facilities, which are all situated outside of general population zones. 

I love how modular these building are. HARDWEAR STUDIOS is going to be getting a lot of my attention for the rest of the year. I have had my Nerd-eye on these cool models for awhile now and it is about time I got busy on building a few BATTLETECH Environments.

This is one of the awesome songs that hotshot ComStar Mech Warriors play while working the hard job of being Heroic Protectors of ComStar Properties and The Inner Sphere.

THE MECHBAY 🎤 PODCAST IS GOOD

I just found The MechBay Podcast this week. This is a fun and smart show. The guys bring an adult presentation that I prefer to the standard ultra to cool for school idols blah-blahing that are often found online. Good stuff guys! The most recent show was about the CGL Battlefield Support Deck and the forthcoming ALPHA STRIKE BSD mini-deck.

Key CGL staff filled the 50th episode of WOLF NET WITH FUN confirmations of forthcoming products beyond what we have seen at GEN CON 2022.

IS Standard Battle Armor

Who's been waiting for this one? More Battle Armor! Inner Sphere Standard this time to face off against the Elementals.

It's not the sexiest piece of armor, but it is in wide spread use and early tech so that all IS players can plausibly use them.

Even the most competent previous artwork for this BA by Matt Plog is 22 years old. Time really flies. With that I decided it was important that the suit look cool and functional before any hamstringing happens out of faithfulness to the old design.
I also wanted to work more of its Elemental BA salvage origins into the design. The proportions of the frame are much more similar (and more realistically fits a human). The lower legs and feet share more design language, the old brick legs had to go.
Even more than the Elemental armor, I think you can look at this concept and really see the man all that armor is strapped around.

I've no idea yet if this will be strictly a force pack item, or if there will be a stretch goal during the KS to also put it in the main Mercenary starter box of the campaign.

The Battletech channel BIG RED 40K just posted a nice little video on some of this news too!

ANDOR IS NEW CLASSIC STAR WARS!

 

I have loved STAR WARS since I was a child, and like many of us with similar history, I can detect REAL STAR WARS all of the time... in just a few moments I will know if it is worthy, or just more worthless woke 

 ANDOR will at the least be real and cool and fun, just like ROGUE ONE and MANDALORIAN.

BOSS' BATTLETECH: CLAN WOLF DROPSHIPS PART 1

This painting was a fun weekend project. I am going to make my models look very much like this.

I am using the BLADE and LANCE Aerodyne DropShips from HADWEAR Studios for my CLAN WOLF AEROSPACE fleet and TECH TURFF collections. The Blade model is an updated version of the classic Broadsword. The Lance is a fine match to the updated Broadsword and screams (HOWLS) cool escort ship!

I LOVE THESE SHIPS

I love how Dale made use of key design elements from the ancient Broadsword art, and updated it to match the modern badassery of the 2013 art. Both of these DropShips look cool! 

I just placed my order for the BLADE this morning... Thanks Derek and Dale!
